Technical Details
- Binder: Allbäck purified, boiled, and well aged linseed oil.
- Pigment: Iron oxide, Chalk.
- Drier: Manganese Siccative.
- Thinner: If necessary, thin with max. 5% Allbäck Purified Boiled Linseed Oil. The paint is solvent-free and must never be thinned with solvents.

Volume solids: 100% by volume. Nothing evaporates from the paint.
VOCs: <5mg / L, natural oil only. - Sheen: Variations in sheen may occur if absorption and/or application is uneven. This will even out over time. During application, the paint builds to an even soft gloss with more coats. Over time, and with exposure, the paint will become matte and stay that way for most of its lifecycle. Maintain the surface and restore the original sheen with Boiled Linseed Oil or Linseed Oil Wax.
- Extra shining: Achieve an even higher shine and harder surface with Linseed Extra Shining Oil. Add 5-10% to the paint. Regulate thickness with Boiled Linseed Oil.
- Substrate: The paint may be used on all clean, dry surfaces, exterior and interior. Max moisture content 14%. May be applied in direct sunlight. Impregnate dry wood and cracks with Raw Linseed Oil before painting. Add 10-20% Zinc Oxide Additive when painting outdoors.
- Application: Stir the paint thoroughly to ensure all the pigments are well incorporated. Brush, roll, or spray (high pressure, small nozzle). Thickness approximately 100 microns per coat, using Wet Film Thickness Gauge.
- Coverage: Average 15 - 20 m² per litre (161 - 215 sqft per litre), depending on the surface. Each coat should cover the surface completely and be painted in even layers. Apply the same paint in at least 3 coats on new surfaces, 4 coats on particularly exposed surfaces. Very absorbent surfaces may take more paint. Consider impregnation with Raw Linseed Oil to regulate very absorbent surfaces. Test with a small quantity of paint, or try our Linseed Oil Paint Intro Kit.
- Cleaning: Allbäck Linseed Soap and water or other neutral cleaning agent. For surfaces, hands, brushes, and tools. Rinse well and allow to dry.
- Storage: Store brushes suspended in Raw Linseed Oil.
- Keeping: May be kept indefinitely, even below freezing.
- Drying time: Approx. 24 hours at room temperature, with good ventilation, and low humidity (≥50% RH).
- Transport: No restrictions - not hazardous goods.

Game changing! What a wonderful experience. I had a couple of very worn outdoor wooden doors, definitely needing a makeover, and I was so sure that I would have to remove all the old paint and sand. This paint is so forgiving,! The door looks fantastic, and I had to do very little prep before painting. Highly. Highly recommend.

This paint is by far the easiest and most fun to apply, if you enjoy doing paint jobs with a brush. I am always amazed at how much it covers, 3 L can take you a long way. I've painted the entire house 8 years ago and it took as litte as 4 x 3 L, for 3 coats on old masonite that was first scraped, then thoroughly cleaned with linseed oil soap and prepped with linseed oil. It holds very very well. I'm planning on resurfacing with linseed oil next year, but I could easily afford to wait another couple of years. Given how long it lasts and how little it takes, this compares in costs to any other quality brand. Fun is extra ! I'm not a fan of leaving comments, but this product and this team deserve it. I don’t usually write reviews. This paint is amazing. Second year using it on very dry wood in bad condition on an old cottage. The transformation is spectacular, now the cottage is much stronger and will last longer. It DOES NOT PEEL OR CRACK. It makes the wood hard and shiny. The trick, with old wood, is to use lots of boiled linseed oil as a primer (they say to use raw linseed oil first, but I didn’t have that, so boiled it was). Fun to use, smells great, covers a lot, VERY SATURATED COLORS (I used old red). Could not be happier. They found a customer for life.

Like the color. The paint seemed a bit thicker than the oyster green. Some dye color on the cedar, pretreated with linseed oil, was able to rub off when dry. Not sure if that was a paint or wood issue. The paint was not so thick it crinkled. Would definitely use again for more projects.
