Traditional Oakum Caulking

Log homes can have some interesting joinery due to scribing of panels, drywall, fireplace stacks etc to the unique log edges. Quite often the remaining gaps/spacing are left unattended as there are limited options to close, backfill, improve sound insulation etc. We searched for a number of potential options and came across this product from Sage Restoration. The product was a great solution to fill all the gaps and look professionally done. We are extremely happy with the end results and strongly recommend this product.

I think the pine tar is my favourite. Once you start keeping a variety of these things around, they become essentials, and maintaining your house becomes a little more enjoyable. And what a relief to work with materials that are agreeable to my health and my environment.
