Kiln-dried White Cedar Siding Shingles
Description
These high-quality, Sidewall Select AB eastern white cedar shingles are the ideal material for long-lasting outdoor siding. Cedar contains natural oils that offer an exceptional resistance against, mould, decay, and insects. This is a natural alternative to chemically treated woods, or synthetic materials, that can be toxic and age poorly.
Traditional cedar shingles can be left unfinished, and they will age gently and beautifully. With a silvery grey hue, cedar shingle siding will retain its old world charm for many years.
The life of the wood can be extended by combining with a water-based Reactive Wood Stain or a linseed oil treatment such as Pure Linseed Oil Paint or Pine Tar to give a beautiful finish that lasts - with little long-term maintenance and no peeling!
Notes on finishing
Reactive wood stains can be applied any time.
Linseed oil preservation treatments can generally be added right away, since the moisture content of kiln-dried shingles is usually well below the recommended 14% threshold for our linseed oil based materials. Test the moisture content of the wood to be certain.

Sidewall Select shingles are wider for faster installation and a better look. They are knot-free on the exposed surface (up to 6" from the butt). Split the shingles yourself to isolate your own A-grade and B-grade shingles.
