Great stuff

Great product, goes on smooth. Any build up/bubbles was actually easy to remove and resurface with the next coat.

Superior quality products

Really do not know what to say other than i am happy to have a source of superior quality products in the country, meaning I do not have to Import them myself. Plus Sage is a good source of expanding knowledge leading to new products.that may sound exagerated but fits my experience.

The greatest gift to our historical house

The greatest gift to our historical house has been getting products and support from Sage Restoration. Your team always makes time to discuss issues, give advice and think about solutions. It feels the Sage team is part of my restoration crew!

I have become a fervent advertiser for Sage among my friends and colleagues - I only take a 10% commission 😉

This summer, I worked on a variety of projects, one of which is the stripping of our oak front door from 1910. The door had been painted over with black paint, but some very old varnish was visible under the black paint. I primed the door with the door with Tonkinoise Bio Impression oil, and finished off with Tonkinoise Marine #1.

I re-build the door steps partly with quarter sawn oak, which I varnished. I painted the lower part of the door step with a mix of Holkham green and Black at a 1:1 ratio.

I also stripped the wrought iron gate of over a century of paint build-up and repainted it with Allback Black Linseed Oil paint. I re-set the top window with Linseed oil Putty and the reset the leaded glass with a mix of Putty, oil and iron oxide powder. This was a relatively small project but one that made a huge impact. In the meantime, the stone ornaments have been re-jointed with lime based mortar (albeit not the Sage one!).
