Le Tonkinois Parquet Linseed Oil Varnish is a heavy duty, glossy, oil varnish for floors and woodwork, where a hard surface with a very high amount of resistance to scuffs, abrasion, saltwater marine conditions, and various kinds of cleaning products is required.
This varnish is made from 40% pure linseed oil and 60% alkyd resin, making a surface coating that is less elastic but notably harder than the Classic Anti-corrosion and the Marine Nº1 varnishes. Due to its lower proportion of natural oil, the Parquet Varnish dries clearer and casts slightly less of an amber tone to the wood.
Approximately 20 m2 (215 SQFT) per litre per coat. More coats = more protection.
Approximately 24 hours at room temperature, with good ventilation and low humidity.
On bare wood, apply the varnish directly to a clean and dry surface. On previously finished surfaces, sand the surface to provide better adhesion. Fill and smooth over cracks with and holes with a combination of Parquet Varnish and wood dust. Allow to harden for 24 hours before sanding smooth and proceeding to finish the surface. Treat porous wood with Le Tonkinois Bio Impression Oil or with Allback Purified Linseed Oil before applying Parquet Varnish. Apply Parquet Varnish with a brush, roller, or applicator pad such as the Lambskin Floor Applicator. For an extra-smooth, clear, professional-quality finish, wet sand between coats with 300-400 grit sandpaper.
